Description
The Eden Community Access Centre Inc is a community owned not-for-profit organisation, operating under a Committee of Management.
The Centre is a one-stop-shop providing facilities and services for the Eden community to access with the ease experienced by their more urban counterparts.
We offer a variety of services, including computers (all with internet access), copiers, laminators, binders, fax machines, dvd and cd burners, and general administration assistance, as well as videoconferencing and digital editing facilities. We also provide secretarial assistance to local organisations.
Customers may use the equipment or have work completed for them.
Visitors from overseas, interstate and NSW can also access the Internet for a small fee.
While operating on a fee for service basis, we recognise the fact that we operate in a low socio-economic area. We submit applications for grants and tenders wherever possible to enhance the services we provide to the local communtiy.
We have many volunteers who help us and we value their input. Staff are always on hand to provide assistance. We act as an agency for Centrelink, and provide the Medicare Australia Access Point as well as the @ccess NSW Government online.
We are a member of the Community Technology Centres Association and the Local Community Services Association, are an ATO Assistance and Referral Centre, and work closely with the Volunteer Tax Help program. We offer meeting facilities for the Dept of Housing. We organise Work for the Dole programs.
