How can I advertise my business on this website?

You can advertise your business in a number of different ways within eden.nsw.au.

1. Every business / organisation that applies can have a free listing in the directory section of our website. Sub-directories by type (e.g. Accommodation, Restaurants, Retail, Trades) will be added as this directory grows. This free listing can include:

• Business name
• Phone Number

2. For a small set-up cost and a modest annual fee we can create a separate web page within eden.nsw.au accessed from our Directory which includes images and graphics. You will be able to make changes to this web page (e.g. "This Week's Specials") yourself as required. The associated costs will vary depending on the size and complexity of your requirements and whether we need the services of a graphic artist to meet them.

3. A banner advertisement can be added into the right-hand column on any page within our website (excluding the home page) which includes a link to either your webpage within eden.nsw.au or your basic (free) listing.

1. A basic listing, name and contact phone number, is free in a directory or        directories of your choice.

2. A one page presence on the site - $100 per year.

3. A link to your own website for $40 per year. Community organisations link for free.

4. A full webmail address eg mailto:johnbusiness@eden.nsw.au for $10 per year or $5 for a diversion to an email address of your choosing. This enables you to maintain an email address even if you change your ISP, or if the executive of your group changes at the AGM. It is also a great advertising idea, especially if you don't already have Eden in your name.

5. Advertising your business in a banner in the right hand side bar - $50 for 6 months (longer periods can be arranged) on a page that is most relevant to your business (not available on the home page). This will be linked to the directory listing for your business.

These fees may be waived for some community groups and not-for-profit organisations.

 How can I obtain an email address for my group or organisation?

Click on the link ‘Apply for an email address' on the right hand column under the email login details. You will then be asked for your name, phone number, and current email address. You can also ask questions in the space provided. Email addresses will be given out to every group/organisation that applies for one. Some possible group/organisation addresses that may be activated include: mailto:tennis@eden.nsw/au or firebrigade@eden.nsw.au.

Many email programs allow a user to redirect emails to another address either temporarily or permanently.

For hotmail addresses, you can do this by going to options > more options > under Manage your account - Forward mail to another e-mail account > enter your eden.nsw.au address in the box provided.

For emails viewed in Microsoft Outlook you can create a rule that redirects all emails to your eden.nsw.au address. Go to Tools > Rules Wizard > New Rule > Start from blank rule > Highlight ‘Check messages when they arrive', click Next > leave all conditions blank, click Next > (message displays, click ok)  check the ‘redirect it to people or distribution list' then in the bottom pane click on ‘people or distribution list' > enter your eden.nsw.au address, click ok > then click Finish. All your emails will now be forwarded to your eden.nsw.au address.

You can contact the website administrator and ask them to create an ‘alias' for your name@eden.nsw.au address. For example, if you had a group email address such as mailto:tennis@eden.nsw.au you could redirect emails that came to that address to a personal email address such as jbloggs@eden.nsw.au or jbloggs@hotmail.com. Your personal email address would not be apparent to the sender (unless of course you reply to them from that account).

If you are in an office bearer position in your group or organisation you can become an author for the site by contacting admin@eden.nsw.au. You can then add information to your pages of interest and it will be displayed on the site when it is approved by the site administrator.

Alternatively, you can send the information that you'd like to be published to admin@eden.nsw.au and he/she will post the information on your behalf.
