NCOSS Community Forum - Merimbula

1 Jun 10

The Council of Social Services of NSW (NCOSS) hosted a forum in Merimbula on 28 May, presenting its platform for the 2011 NSW State Election - 'Vote 1 Fairness in NSW'.

Discussing key issues for the community in the Bega Valley region, Member for Bega, Andrew Constance, MLC Penny Sharpe and MLC Sylvia Hale answered questions from representatives of the local community agencies.

The forum, aimed at workers, managers and board members of non-government not-for-profit human services, and community services workers in local government as well as consumers, included emphasis on communication between agencies, transport issues, Aboriginal concerns, and communication between the community and governments at all levels.

Information on the issues raised at the forum will be available shortly on  www.ncoss.org.au/vote1fairness

Community services' consumers and workers can also download the NCOSS document 'Vote 1 Fairness in NSW' for details on the policies and proposals that are part of the NCOSS campaign program to lobby members of the NSW State Government, prior to the election in March 2011.
