VIEW Club farewells 2009

The Eden Day VIEW had its last meeting for 2009 with a Christmas luncheon
celebration at the Fishermans Club this week. The members were treated to a
delicious meal of roasted chicken and vegetables followed by plum pudding
custard and ice-cream. A special thanks to Marilyn who has baked some
magnificent cakes through the year. The chocolate cake for the Christmas
Lunch was indeed appreciated and consumed buy all..
President Beryl Kelly acknowledged the passing of member Eva Christel.
Beryl and Val Young travelled to Wonboyn to join the gathering of Eva's
friends to celebrate her life. Beryl spoke of a "beautiful person who will
be sadly missed".
The Members were enthusiastic about the direction of the club in 2010 with
the confidence that the club can continue to support 2 Learning for Life
students through their fund raisers. The club will be sending $1000 to the
Smith Family for the Learning for Life Program. This has been achieved with
the success of the clubs birthday celebrations and the generosity of Lindy
McMahon who put on the Melbourne Cup Day function. Special thanks go to all
who have supported the Eden Day View Club and especially to all its
committee and members for their dedication throughout the year. A date for
the 2010 calendar is January 25th for a tour to Green Cape Lighthouse.
