The Eden Day View Club, which supports the Smith Family and its Learning for Life Program, was the overall winner of the Cup Day fundraiser organised and hosted by Lindy McMahon of Eden. Lindy's generosity and the 25 guests who attended had a fun filled day with sweeps, small change auction raffles, lucky door prizes and best hat, all added to the overall success of the day, raising $510. Jill Archer from Eden Garden Centre provided prizes and surprises throughout the day with "gardening quiz" and "name the plants", as well as donating the lucky door prize and the best hat on the day.
“VIEW clubs provide local women with a forum to meet, interact and play an active role in pursuing important social and community issues”, programs officer Anne Comery said. “Lindy has excelled in raising the profile of the VIEW Club and the work it pursues. This social cup day event will go directly to the Smith family for student sponsorship which Eden VIEW has a commitment to”.
