Visiting Eden

Eden is renowned for the unspoilt beauty of Twofold Bay and its surrounding beaches, rivers and lakes, forests and nearby mountains. It is idyllic for salt water fishing and the many estuaries, rock shelves and beaches to the north and the south offer year-round fishing. Eden is well serviced with boat ramps, the largest of which provides deep-water access for bay and ocean fishing.

Twofold Bay is famous for it whaling history and today viewing whales and dolphins is a delight of visitors and locals alike. Whale watching is a major attraction from September to December, when migrating whales come in close to the shoreline and often frolic in our beautiful bay.

Water sports, including surfing, yachting, diving and swimming, are other major attractions.

We are surrounded by national parks and state forests, which provide the right environment for a wide variety of native flora and fauna. These can be seen when you stroll around town, as well as on bushwalks and treks further afield. You can also enjoy the local sites by bicycle and perhaps have your trek recorded. There are many pretty picnic spots as well as scenic drives and, for the more adventurous, several off-road trails for 4WD vehicles and hikers. There are also some areas open to trail-biking.  Check with the local state forests office in Eden before heading out.

Local historic sites offer hours of entertainment, education and leisure and are worth investigating. Throughout the year, people from around the world on ocean cruises call into our port and enjoy the delights that Eden has to offer. Accommodation venues, restaurants, cafes, clubs and hotels, shops and other venues are most welcoming of visitors to Eden and the surrounding villages.
