Tales as Old as Time
23 June, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The Eden Community Access Centre and Red Cross are excited to invite you to Tales as Old as Time – a free event being held at the Hotel Australasia on the evening of Friday 23 June and sponsored by the Red Cross and our Disaster Preparedness Project.
Long-time residents of Eden and nearby villages will be sharing stories about Eden and its past at a fireside, in-conversation event hosted by Paul West.
There’ll be captivating stories from Eden’s history, including emergencies like the 1952 fires and the battle to save the Hotel Australasia.
Tales as Old as Time is a wonderful way for the community to gather and continue to build stronger connections. Those connections are so important; they’re key to our being better prepared and ready to face the future together.
The event will also give newer residents a chance to hear some of Eden’s rich, historical tales told by people whose families have lived in the area for generations.
Tickets are limited and bookings can be made by contacting Deb Austen on 6496 3970 or emailing Deb on rsw.officeeden@gmail.com
Why not invite a new neighbour or someone who has recently arrived in the area to come along with you?
Tales as Old as Time is a Red Cross initiative. Similar events held across Australia in recent years have inspired greater understanding of local disaster risks and resources.
